Our Story

From adrift to ashore.
Navigate life's transitions with clarity and calm.
Fresh Beaches offers lived-in wisdom, proven frameworks, and a community to help you move from stuck to a fresh start.
Life happens in the in-between.
The day after the last day of work. The first quiet morning in an empty house. The week a divorce is final, or a windfall lands and no one tells you what comes next. These are the moments when the map runs out.
Most people cross them alone, with advice that's too clinical, too generic, or out of reach. Fresh Beaches exists to meet you in the transition and help turn that unsettling blank space into a fresh start with direction.
What we believe
- The second half of life can hold more meaning than the first.
- Growth is possible at any age and after any setback.
- You don't need to be fixed. You need a guide. You're the captain; we hand over the chart.
- Calm beats hype. Practical beats preachy. Progress beats perfection.
- "Nothing on the calendar" isn't a crisis. It's an invitation.
Who we're for
Capable adults who did life right and are surprised to feel lost. Maybe you've just retired and you're quietly asking, "…now what?" Maybe you're changing careers, starting over after a divorce, adjusting to an empty nest, grieving, caregiving, or working out what a windfall or a financial hit means for your next chapter.
If you'd rather be guided than diagnosed or hyped, you're in the right place.
Lived it, then mapped it.
Fresh Beaches was founded by Stuart, a UC Berkeley and Stanford engineer who spent more than two decades as a technology and business manager at Hewlett-Packard before retiring at 55. He navigated the transition himself, then distilled the best thinking in the field (Bruce Feiler, Richard Leider, William Bridges, and Ikigai) into simple, doable frameworks.
That gives you the best of the field, tested in real life, instead of one person's untested opinion.

Our voice
Think of us as the wise friend who's a few years ahead of you on the path: warm, grounded, lightly buoyant, and never preachy. We'll say "Let's take the first step. Just one." You won't hear "47 things you MUST do." We'd rather say "Some mornings will feel pointless. That's the transition, not the destination" than promise that every day is bliss.
Turns out "nothing to do" is a great problem to have. Let's use it.
